Cranes That Work the Way Carolina Crews Work

Two manufacturers. One philosophy: balanced lifting, safety built in, and machines that hold up to the job site — not the showroom.

Lifting, Done Right

Sound Heavy Machinery represents two leading crane manufacturers in the Carolinas — Terex Rough Terrain and Franna Pick & Carry. Together, they cover infrastructure builds, port operations, mining, energy, yard logistics, and general lifting from 25 to 100 tons.

Every machine ships with overload protection, dynamic load moment indicators, and operator cabs designed for full shifts. We handle the spec, the sale, the rental, and the service after.

Two Lineups. Built for Different Jobs.

Terex Rough Terrain for heavy lifts on uneven ground. Franna Pick & Carry for the load-and-move work that keeps a yard moving.

Pick & Carry Cranes

Franna pick and carry cranes live up to their name with the strength and easy operation to pick up heavy loads and the steering flexibility to move in tight spaces. Their high road speeds get them to the jobsite quickly, and because the articulated frame needs no outriggers, you can get set up and working almost immediately.

Rough Terrain Cranes

Versatile, off-road lifting for infrastructure, ports, mining, energy, yard logistics, and general construction. Five models scale from 40 to 100 tons. With excellent ground clearance and up to four steering modes, positioning these cranes in even the most rugged terrain is easy.

Safety & Performance, Not Optional

Every crane we sell ships with the systems that keep operators in control and loads where they belong.

Overload Protection
Built-in safeguards cut function before the machine exceeds its rated capacity. No guess work, no override-then-explain.
Dynamic LMI
Load Moment Indicator reads angle, radius, and weight in real time. Operators get live capacity data on every lift.
External E-Stop
Ground-level emergency stop lets a spotter shut the machine down without climbing into the cab. Critical on tight job sites.
Ergonomic Cabin
Visibility, climate control, and controls laid out for full-shift comfort. Fatigue is a safety issue — the cab treats it that way.
